Interested in Using Compostable Serviceware?

We accept compostable single-use serviceware on a limited, case-by-case basis. Why is this? The compostable single-use market is still relatively new, and compostability varies widely between products. PFAS are a growing health concern and are found in many products, including many compostable serviceware options.

In order to ensure our farm partners are receiving compostables that won’t contaminate their soils, we can only accept BPI-certified, fiber-based compostables. We will need to pre-approve all compostables used at your event. But don’t worry, we can help guide you on which compostables to purchase.

Alternatives to Compostable Serviceware

Before choosing compostable serviceware, we encourage you to consider reusable or recyclable options. Benefits of each include:

Reusable serviceware:

  • Can be reused over and over!
  • Often more aesthetically pleasing and durable.

Recyclable serviceware:

  • Typically has a lower carbon footprint manufacturing compared to compostable serviceware
  • Typically cheaper than compostable single-use serviceware.
  • Recommended over composting by Hamilton County Resource

Still interested in using compostable, single-use serviceware? Let us know on your intake form and we’ll help guide you through which serviceware to purchase for your event.
